Position: Cognos BI Developer

Term:  1 year Contract position

You will be required to create, maintain and enhance Cognos cubes, reports, dashboards and scorecards. You will work within a Cognosv10/Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and IBM DB2 technical environment. This is a one year contract working onsite.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Migrate existing Cognos applications to Cognos version 10;
• Developing appropriate documentation to support applications as they move into production;
• Gathering business requirements and design BI solutions;
• Designing and developing moderate to complex Cubes and reports;
• Designing and developing logical and physical dimensional datamart models;
• Troubleshooting Cognos Cubes and reports;
• Developing active report packages and dashboards for senior management;
• Create ad-hoc reports as needed;
• Assisting with technical questions, provide technical advice and support to other team members; and
• Training CASO staff.

Desired Requirements:

• 3-5 years Experience with, Cognos v8 & v10, IBM DB2, MS SQL;
• Proven design and development experience, as Cognos BI Programmer/Analyst developing Reports, Dashboards and Cubes;
• Knowledge of Relational and Dimensional database concepts, Web technologies and Web server;
• Good communication skills, both written and oral;
• Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills;
• Knowledge of data warehouse related methodologies and processes; and
• Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
