Position: Intermediate COTS Specialist
Must have Secret Clearance
Key skills and experience:
- Maintain/support existing COTS applications through their life cycle, including performance tuning. Products will include but not limited to MS Office Suite (Office 2003 and Office 2010);
- Coordinate application testing within a control environment for new and existing COTS products;
- Manage walkthroughs and reviews related to testing and implementation readiness;
- Conduct problem analysis, testing, troubleshooting and provide recommendations for the best resolution to client;
- Draft and review test plans for COTS products;
- Develop, validate and monitor test results for all levels of testing of COTS products;
- Manage administrative rights to Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Microsoft Virtualization workstations;
- Develop Technical documents to be used as guidance for configuration, installation and deployment of COTS products;
- Produce Technical documents/bulletins to support issues resolution and update the issue database;
- Analyse and research product bulletins and security bulletins and produce required reports and risk analyses;
- Respond to application functionality problems and provides solutions using development software, usually in response to software enhancements, security vulnerabilities and/or client requests.
Mandatory experience
- Minimum 3 years experience supporting Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer in a Windows XP or Windows 7 environment
- Minimum 3 years experience configuring GPO’s for desktop management purposes
- Minimum 3 years experience configuring and supporting Windows XP or Windows 7 in a Microsoft AD environment
Desirable experience
- Experience configuring and managing Windows 7 desktops in an AD environment
- Experience configuring and managing Office 2010 desktops in an AD environment
